Visit YONGE EGLINTON and discover a
world you thought you knew
Yonge
Eglinton has what everyone is looking for – and then some. This
'city-within-a city' offers everything one would expect from a vibrant
community.
The ‘rush’ of downtown, yet the ‘calm’ of uptown,
has given Yonge Eglinton its unique and attractive reputation.
A hub of activity, the popular intersection of Yonge St. and Eglinton
Ave. touts a subway station, bus terminal, shopping centre and various
commercial and residential towers.
From this focal point, you can expect to find a mix of commercial, retail
and residential development which spans several city blocks: from Davisville
Ave. to the south, Lawrence Ave. to the north, Avenue Rd. on the west
and Mt. Pleasant Rd. to the east.
Shop ‘til you Drop
The
Yonge Street 'strip' features as diverse a retail selection as one would
find in any large suburban shopping mall. Local and out-of-area shoppers
converge on this retail mecca for the wonderful outdoor & indoor experience
the area delivers. Combine an eclectic mix of boutiques and shops, with
a host of local, national, and international chain stores and one needs
to go no further than several city blocks to satisfy virtually every need.
From antiques to hardware, cupcakes to designer fashions, it’s all
here and more.
When you’re tired of shopping, you can treat yourself to some of
the finest food in the city. With a host of casual outdoor patios and
some of Toronto finest five-star restaurants, the area prides itself on
catering to every palate.
Linger around the area for a few more hours and the twilight will add
yet another dimension to the Yonge Eglinton community. The plethora of
pubs and night clubs make for great fun and relaxation. Those who prefer
to sit-back and be entertained can find themselves at the latest movie-release
or a live dinner theatre. Whatever your taste, Yonge Eglinton is the perfect
gathering place for the young and young-at-heart.
Bike rides to Boxing
If
shopping or clubbing isn’t really your style – then why not
try fitness? From boxing clubs to yoga studios, the Yonge Eglinton community
has something for every sports buff – even those craving outdoor
activity.
Eglinton Park, immediately behind the modern North Toronto Community
Centre and Arena on Eglinton Ave. West, is the areas largest 'sports-field'
park. Sport teams can also take advantage of the ball fields at the local
area high schools as well as at Davisville Park, which offers both baseball
and tennis. Just minutes north of Eglinton Ave. off Yonge Street is the
Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens, Lawrence Park Tennis and Lawn Bowling
Clubs, the Blythwood Ravine Park and Sherwood Park. Here, along the nature
trails, walkers, joggers and the areas most playful dogs, can be found
enjoying the surroundings.
The beautiful and historic Mt. Pleasant cemetery and the connecting Belt
Line Trail, running from the cemetery to the Allen Expressway, is also
a favorite for bikers, joggers and walking enthusiasts.
Homes & Condos
If you’re in the market for a home, then the Yonge Eglinton community
provides many options. Popular rental apartments can be found on streets
like Holly and Dunfield, Roehampton and Erskine. The recent development
of condominiums - from starter one bedrooms units to condo town homes
to million dollar penthouses - has brought a new, modern-style homeowner
into the area.
If
a more traditional property is more appealing, then look no further than
this much-sought-after North Toronto community. For the most part, these
properties are a mix of 2-storey semi-detached homes and classic 2-storey
brick detached homes which offer the discriminating homebuyer a sense
of security and belonging. Couple the classic look and feel of these homes
with their vicinity to the downtown core, main thoroughfares and upscale
retail areas and the result is a perfect place to live, work and play.
The Yonge Eglinton community offers a quality of life that is undoubtedly
one of the best in the City of Toronto. It is a safe, clean, and respectable
community that has just about everything you’d ever want within
a 10 minute walk from the intersection of Yonge and Eglinton.
Get caught up in that downtown, uptown feeling:
Welcome
